DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The “Welcome to Rockville” festival in Daytona Beach has been temporarily halted as severe weather is expected to hit the area, according to the event’s organizers.
In an official statement, organizers have advised attendees to “calmly proceed to the nearest exit.”
The statement further instructs, “If you are camping, please return to the campgrounds and seek shelter in your vehicle. If you have parked elsewhere, please leave the venue and find safety in your car or in the grandstands near the Turn 1 Entrance.”
Additionally, all other festival-goers are encouraged to exit the premises and take refuge in the grandstand areas.
A severe weather warning was issued for Northeastern Volusia County just before 7 p.m. on Friday, with the alert expected to expire by 7:45 p.m.
As of now, there is no further information regarding when the festival will recommence.
