Subway shove suspect appears in court after allegedly killing retired teacher

In a chilling court appearance on Saturday, a repeat offender, Rhamell Burke, flashed a sinister smile as he faced charges for allegedly pushing an elderly, retired teacher down a subway stairwell in New York City, resulting in the man’s death.

Burke, who has been arrested four times since February, stood without a hint of remorse during his arraignment on murder charges related to the unprovoked attack on 76-year-old Ross Falzone, a former educator.

The 32-year-old suspect had been released from Bellevue Hospital merely five hours before the tragic incident occurred at a Chelsea subway station on Thursday evening.

According to a Manhattan prosecutor, video footage captured Burke trailing Falzone, portraying the attack as entirely unprovoked.

The judge, citing Burke’s history of legal troubles and the fact that he had four pending criminal cases at the time of the incident, deemed him a flight risk and ordered him to be held without bail.
