Judge Elliott Levine serves as the presiding officer for Branch 2 of the La Crosse County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He assumed this role in April 2017 following his election, stepping into the position left by the retiring Circuit Judge Michael Mulroy. Before taking on this judicial role, Levine led the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office in the La Crosse area.
His swearing-in was officiated by La Crosse County Circuit Judge Dale Pasell during an installation ceremony. Notably, Pasell, who once employed Levine as a public defender back in 1990, was a strong supporter of Levine’s judicial aspirations.

Education
Originating from Urbana, Illinois, Judge Levine completed his undergraduate education at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, earning a B.A. in 1985. He later achieved his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1990, the same year he was admitted to the bar.
