Sunny Hostin from “The View” has openly shared that she often conceals her shopping habits from her husband of over two decades. Her main reason? To avoid his critiques, particularly when indulging in new footwear.
During a discussion led by Whoopi Goldberg about activities they steer clear of when their spouses are around, Sunny, who reportedly has a wealth of $3 million, didn’t hesitate to reveal her secret.
“Absolutely, I do!” Sunny confessed, explaining her desire to dodge Manny’s scrutiny over her purchases. Whoopi, at 68, humorously chimed in, mimicking how Sunny might deflect: “Oh, this has always been here, where have you been?”
Sunny admitted to employing such tactics, adding, “He asks, ‘Is that new?’ and I just say, ‘No!’ I even sneak shoes out of their boxes and hide them in my bag to take upstairs,” prompting Joy Behar to remind her, “It’s your money, Sunny!”
Sunny quickly retorted, “It’s not about the money, it’s about avoiding judgment. I just don’t enjoy being judged,” while Whoopi jokingly remarked, “You can’t be sure it’s her money!”

Joy, 81, then suggested a light-hearted solution: “If you can afford it, having separate bedrooms is the key—you can keep secrets without feeling the need to hide activities from each other.”
‘It’s not cheating!’ Sunny exclaimed, as Joy said of her own marriage to Steve Janowitz: ‘He’s watching football in one room, I’m watching a Bette Davis movie in the other room.’
The debate came about as the panel, including Alyssa Farah Griffin, discussed Vick Hope’s recent comments in which she admitted to waiting for her husband Calvin Harris to leave the house before she listens to Taylor Swift’s music.
Her admission came as quite a shock to fans because Calvin, 40, and singer Taylor, 34, dated for 15 months between 2015 and 2016.
Bringing the topic back to Calvin and Taylor, Alyssa, 34, told the panel: ‘The only thing about this that’s interesting to me is they had a very bad breakup. That was a serious relationship and a serious breakup.
‘Songs were written and it was tough. As opposed to… we had Taylor Lautner on the show, who also briefly dated Taylor a million years ago and they’re friends and his wife is a big fan, that makes sense to me.
‘But if you had a serious relationship with my husband, I’m not listening to your music, I’m not buying your product, no chance!’ Alyssa added.
Sunny agreed with her as Alyssa continued: ‘I mean, if she cured cancer maybe, but not music!’
‘Wow, you’re tough!’ Joy said. ‘I don’t care! If I like Taylor Swift I’m going to listen to Taylor Swift, I don’t care if she screwed up my husband,’ as Whoopi jokingly added: ‘As long as she ain’t screwing him up today!’

Sunny is no stranger to talking about her marriage on The View and back in February, Whoopi branded her a ‘b****’ when she openly slammed her husband’s cooking live on air.
Whoopi told the mother-of-two ‘you ought to stop’ before warning her that she would end up ‘alone’ if her husband of 25 years tuned into the episode and witnessed her criticizing his ‘nasty’ homemade dinners.
The conversation began as Whoopi revealed that a recent article claimed that many couples ‘cannot stand what their partner does in the kitchen’ – and asked her married cohosts if it was an issue for them.
Sunny was quick to speak up about husband Emmanuel – whom she married in 1998 – and revealed: ‘I love the domain of the kitchen. I cook every night, as most of you know. I enjoy it, I like to eat my own food, the whole thing.’
‘I like Manny to do the outdoor stuff. Do the poop patrol for our 150-pound dogs, fix the cars, take out the garbage,’ she continued as Whoopi interjected and asked: ‘So you don’t want him touching the food?’
‘No!’ Sunny yelled, before adding: ‘Because he doesn’t cook that well. He has one dish…’ as Whoopi advised her to talk straight into the camera to let him know that he ‘sucks as a cook.’
Following Whoopi’s orders, the curly-haired star stared down the camera and announced: ‘Manny, you have one dish and I don’t like that one dish,’ as the rest of the panel asked her to describe it.
‘He makes this weirdo quinoa, chickpea, avocado thing. There’s no name…,’ she said as Whoopi butted in and yelled, ”B****, you’re gonna be alone today! You ought to stop!’ as the rest of the hosts burst out laughing.
