Hero police officer defeats claw machine and rescues trapped child on family bowling night: 'Nerves of steel'

Dubbed a tale of “claw and order,” a Missouri police officer is being celebrated as a hero after rescuing a young child who was caught inside a popular arcade game.

The incident occurred when Officer Brown, from the St. Charles County Police Department, was enjoying some off-duty time with his family at the Lucky Strike bowling alley in St. Peters. During his visit, he noticed a child trapped inside a claw machine.

Displaying quick thinking and bravery, Officer Brown wasted no time. Equipped with sheer determination, a calm demeanor, and about $4 in change, he managed to free the child from the machine, as detailed in a Facebook post by the police department.

Officer Brown’s actions at the local bowling alley, where he helped the child escape from the arcade claw machine, have earned him widespread praise. The St. Charles County Police Department shared the heroic act on their Facebook page, garnering significant attention and gratitude from the community.

“After an intense battle of skill, patience and button mashing, the veteran officer successfully defeated the nefarious arcade device and rescued the little girl,” the department said.

The child was subsequently freed from the machine and reunited safely with her family to enjoy the rest of the evening. Details regarding how the youngster became trapped were not immediately available.

Following the ordeal, the department said Officer Brown “calmly” returned to his own loved ones – where he bowled an impressive score of 96.

“Just another reminder that the Officers of the St. Charles County Police Department are always ready to serve [the community] — on and off-duty,” the department added.
