GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have detained 63-year-old Myron Robert Davis following accusations of inappropriate conduct involving a minor. Davis is accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl at a bus stop and offering her money for sexual acts.
The incident reportedly occurred around 7:50 a.m. on May 21, when a Gainesville Police Department officer was dispatched to the 700 block of SE 3rd Street. The teenage victim recounted that while she was waiting for her bus, Davis approached her, inquiring if the bus serviced her high school. Ignoring his question, the girl alleged that Davis then began to touch her thigh inappropriately and proposed payment for further physical contact. Feeling threatened, she pushed him away and sought help from a nearby bus driver.
Law enforcement later located Davis at a Home Depot on NW 13th Street. During questioning, Davis, under Miranda rights, claimed he believed the young girl to be in her twenties. He also mentioned that they were sharing a “blunt” and that he inadvertently touched her thigh while attempting to prevent it from burning her.
Davis, who is registered at GRACE Marketplace, faces charges of lewd or lascivious conduct by an adult. Although his full criminal record remains undisclosed, he has served 15 prison terms across Alachua, Leon, Marion, and Taylor counties. Judge Bo Bayer has ordered Davis to be held without bail, pending a motion from the State Attorney’s Office. Should the motion be denied, bail will be determined at a subsequent hearing.
