CHICAGO (WLS) — A shooting on Monday night left three young men injured during a large gathering near 57th Street Beach in Chicago, according to police reports.
The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. on East 55th Street, within the 1600 block.

Authorities stated that an 18-year-old and two 19-year-olds were present at the event when they suddenly heard gunfire and realized they had been shot.
The 18-year-old sustained an injury to his hand, while one of the 19-year-olds was shot in the leg, and the other was hit in the hip. All three victims were transported to a hospital and are in stable condition.

Police have shared surveillance photos of a suspect who was seen wearing a black sweater featuring white lettering on the sleeves, blue pants or jeans, black and white sneakers, a black ski mask, and carrying a dark-colored backpack.
This violence occurred just a few blocks away from a teen gathering at 57th Street Beach earlier that night.

People were seen trying to climbing over a wall, trying to cross the street as police warned them to get back.
Several police cars lined the lakefront as police tried to reroute traffic with hundreds of people all around.
