A NSW woman’s last-minute change to her Powerball numbers has lead to a windfall totalling more than $60 million.
The Queanbeyan lady changed a single digit, which not only got her the only win across Australia in the division one prize pool but secured the division two prize 19 times, bolstering her winnings by a handy $638,678.
The woman was watching the women’s State of Origin when she got the call from lottery officials about her win but couldn’t “believe this is real”.

“It’s insane, absolutely insane,” the woman exclaimed, as reported by The Lott.

“My mouth’s gone completely dry—this is just unbelievable. You can’t imagine how much my head is spinning right now.” She recounted how a last-minute decision had made all the difference. “I actually changed one of the numbers on the PowerHit. I did a quick pick on the ticket but then realized I had too many numbers in the 30s. I had 33 and 34, so I swapped 33 for 5. How crazy is that!”

The winner, who described herself as an “everyday worker,” shared that she had been feeling the pinch of rising living costs, just like many others.

“Up until ten minutes ago, I had a mortgage,” she revealed, still coming to terms with her new reality.

“I’ll keep working for now… but it might not be full time.

“I’m still young enough to enjoy this, share it with the family and make sure everyone’s comfortable for the rest of my life.
