Kelly Clarkson recently shared a humorous yet cringe-worthy moment from her performance history, admitting she almost exposed herself to the audience due to a wardrobe mishap, especially since she wasn’t wearing any underwear at the time.
During a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the former American Idol winner recounted this incident while chatting with guests Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, who are currently starring in the Broadway production of The Last Five Years.
The conversation took this turn when Clarkson brought up Jonas’ own wardrobe malfunction, where he reportedly ripped his pants during a rehearsal.
Understanding the challenges performers face, Clarkson empathized with Jonas’ predicament.
Reflecting on her experience, the Since U Been Gone singer explained, “I was on tour when my skirt’s clip suddenly broke, causing it to fall, and I reacted immediately,” she said with a laugh.
She elaborated, “The reason I reacted so quickly… well, to make a long story short, I was going commando. It was a long skirt, and when it happened, I realized… this might be a bit too much information for everyone,” she added with a grin.
Clarkson joked that she couldn’t believe it happened on the ‘one night’ where she wasn’t wearing underwear.
But her bad luck didn’t stop there – as she also shared that she had stepped on a piece of glass that same night.

The singer had been absent for 10 episodes of the show, but did not reveal why.
While she was gone, she had a number of stars fill in for her as guest hosts, like Brooke Shields and Molly Sims.
Last month, Clarkson celebrated 1,000 episodes of her talk show, which first debuted in 2019, with an emotional and heartfelt speech.
‘Welcome to the Kelly Clarkson Show and our 1,000th episode,’ she said. ‘I can’t believe today marks the 1,000th. It’s crazy.’
She continued: ‘We have met some hugely talented people, tons of big stars and inspiring everyday heroes.’
She gushed about how she, her team, and her fans have ‘created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs.’

Throughout all of the memories, she joked that she ‘still can’t cook.’
‘For 1,000 episodes, we have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together,’ she said about the emotional moments.
‘I’ve lost, alone, a lot,’ she added, without any additional details nor clarification.
