Nvidia, Microsoft, and Arm are all teasing Nvidia’s new N1X laptop processors

The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Nvidia gears up to unveil its Arm-powered laptop chips at the upcoming Computex event. Microsoft, Nvidia, and Arm have all dropped significant hints, with the Windows and Nvidia GeForce accounts posting the phrase “A new era of PC” on X earlier today. Arm joined the fray with a matching post, further fueling excitement.

Each of these teasers includes coordinates that lead directly to Computex’s location in Taipei, where Nvidia is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech on Sunday night at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET. During this event, it’s expected that Nvidia will introduce its new N1 and N1x laptop chips to the world.

Speculation about Nvidia’s Arm-based processors has been circulating for quite some time, with indications earlier this year that laptop giants Lenovo and Dell are already working on incorporating the N1X chips into their products. The initial whispers about Nvidia’s venture into laptop processors emerged in 2023, and in 2024, Dell CEO Michael Dell suggested the potential for an AI-powered PC collaboration with Nvidia during an interview.

Nvidia’s foray into the Windows on Arm arena marks the end of Qualcomm’s exclusive hold on Microsoft’s Windows 11 Arm version. This development is poised to shake up the laptop market, introducing new competition. Meanwhile, Qualcomm is emphasizing affordability in entry-level laptops with its latest Snapdragon C series platform.
