Former President Donald Trump recently criticized a judge’s decision to remove his name from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In his remarks, Trump pointed to the judge’s wife’s ties to President Joe Biden and the House committee probing the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
Trump took to Truth Social to express his disapproval of U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper’s actions, accusing him of halting a “magnificent” renovation project at the Kennedy Center. Trump also took issue with Cooper’s appointment by former President Barack Obama.
Cooper has temporarily halted the proposed two-year closure of the Kennedy Center, which Trump advocated for, citing the building’s precarious structural condition.
In his post, Trump suggested that Judge Cooper’s wife, Amy Jeffress, whom he labeled a “Radical Left Democrat,” influenced the decision. Jeffress has worked with the Obama administration’s Justice Department and served as personal counsel to the Biden family, which Trump claims poses a conflict of interest for Cooper.
Trump further accused Judge Cooper of not disclosing relevant details about his wife’s Democratic affiliations and suggested that this oversight should lead to charges against him.
The former president also alluded to recent Supreme Court and U.S. Court of International Trade rulings that challenged his tariff policies, resulting in ordered repayments to affected companies. Trump linked these legal setbacks to what he perceives as a biased judiciary, expressing concern over the potential loss of the Birthright Citizenship Case.
