Angus Beaumont

Fresh insights have surfaced regarding a catastrophic house fire that led to the lockdown of several streets in Brisbane. The unfolding story reveals that the victims are a family already acquainted with heart-wrenching misfortune.

Among the three homes destroyed in Clontarf stands the residence of the parents of Angus Beaumont, a teenager tragically murdered. In a grim development, it appears an alleged arsonist and attempted murderer from within their own family is responsible for this latest ordeal.

It’s been six years since the Beaumont family was thrust into turmoil.

Back in 2020, 15-year-old Angus was fatally stabbed by other teenagers in a carpark in Redcliffe.

Just yesterday, a fire engulfed the family’s home, suspected to be the result of a domestic violence-related arson attack.

Mandy Beaumont, a family member, shared online that it seems “like they’ve lost everything,” adding that “this on top of this is just too much” for the family to bear.

Family member Mandy Beaumont said online it “looks like they’ve lost everything” adding “this on top of this is just too much”.

She said on a fundraising page it was an “arson attack while they were in the house”.

The blaze spread to two neighbouring homes with all three destroyed.

The massive inferno forced streets to be evacuated. Nine

The alleged offender was taken into custody after being tracked down by the police dog squad.

Corey Wardle, Angus’ half brother who runs a local yard maintenance business, is accused of dousing the family home with jerry cans of accelerant and setting it alight.

Those inside are understood to have made several Triple Zero calls for help, over four hours in the lead-up.

The family was forced to leave almost everything behind, in a race against time to flee the home, as the inferno took hold.

The fire quickly spread to other homes.

The alleged attack could be domestic violence related, police believe. Nine

9News understands they managed to save one irreplaceable item, the urn containing Angus’s ashes.

Wardle will face Redcliffe Magistrates Court on a domestic violence arson charge and three counts of three counts of domestic violence attempted murder tomorrow.
