Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche said the individual suspected of firing shots near the FIFA World Cup events over the weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, may be dead, though law enforcement has not yet confirmed the suspect’s status.

Speaking with Fox & Friends host Lawrence Jones, Blanche said authorities believe 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, who has been linked to a series of highway shootings near Arrowhead Stadium, is deceased.

“We think we got him tracked to a house in Missouri. We’re still looking into whether he’s there and what condition he’s in,” Blanche said.

The FBI’s Kansas City field office announced over the weekend that it is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to Sanchez-Munoz’s arrest, warning that he should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

The search, involving multiple law enforcement agencies, began last week after investigators said the suspect fired at several vehicles while driving on I-70 in Kansas City. One person was killed and several others were wounded in the shootings.

“He’s out there allegedly just shooting multiple different places and you have somebody dead — and so hopefully, we got him,” Blanche said.

When asked about the possibility of the suspect being deceased, a spokesperson for the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said to Fox News, “I just spoke with our investigators and they have not received any information that the suspect was located deceased.”

Attorney General Blanche says more information is expected to be released on Monday.
