River City actor Iain Robertson was remanded in custody on Tuesday after being convicted of raping one woman and assaulting two others.
The 45-year-old was found guilty of five charges in total following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
Robertson, a former BAFTA winner who was removed from the BBC Scotland soap after the allegations emerged, had denied offences said to have taken place between 2004 and 2020.
The actor, from Carbeth in Stirlingshire, now faces the prospect of a significant prison sentence when he appears for sentencing in Edinburgh next month.
He had been on bail during the proceedings, but displayed no visible reaction as he was taken into custody.
During the trial, jurors heard pre-recorded evidence from the woman he was found to have raped.
They determined that Robertson raped the 36-year-old on one occasion between 2018 and 2019, and also committed a separate sexual assault against her.
Robertson had submitted a special defence claiming that any contact with the woman had been consensual.

Evidence was heard of another sexual incident involving a second woman to corroborate the rape charge.
He was said to have forced himself on the now 48-year-old during a get together with others in the Lake District in September 2007.
Jurors did not have to deliver a verdict on this accusation.
But she recalled how Robertson struck after he had gone into a mood because she had been playing a ‘silly’ game with friends.
He had sex with her without her consent in a bedroom, the court heard.
Robertson was also found guilty of engaging in a course of abusive behaviour with the rape victim.
He was further convicted of assaulting the woman from the Lake District incident – which included pouring wine over her and her university course work.
Robertson was violent with a third female, who was a fellow actor at the time.
The 40-year-old recalled an incident in 2014, the day before she was due to go to a photoshoot for acting work.

Describing an argument, she said Robertson ‘lunged’ at her adding: ‘Something happened where I was cowering because I thought he was going to hit me.
‘He said, “If you think I am going to f****** hit you, I will”.
‘I had my hands and arms over my head. I do not remember if he struck me or not.’
After she broke up with Robertson, she described how he hounded her with an ‘obsessive’ amount of calls and voicemails.
He also bizarrely sent Graze snack boxes to theatres she was performing at after checking where she was.
Robertson was convicted of one assault charge involving this woman and cleared of another.

He was further guilty of threatening and abusive behaviour towards her.
Robertson was finally found not guilty of engaging in abusive behaviour with a fourth woman.
He gave evidence during his trial and accepted he was ‘no angel’, but insisted he was innocent of the crimes.
However, in his speech to jurors, advocate depute Mr Keenan said his testimony was ‘wholly incredible and unreliable’.
After the verdicts, it emerged Robertson had one minor assault conviction as well as road traffic offences. He has never been in jail before.
He had first appeared in court for these latest allegations in February 2024 after a police probe.
Gary Allan KC, defending, said Robertson had been ‘frozen out by the acting profession’ since the accusations emerged.
He had asked for his client not to be locked up pending sentencing but Lady Drummond said: ‘I have considered the application for bail, but, Mr Robertson, your situation has now changed.
‘You have been convicted of a number of offences and you will be remanded meantime.’
Robertson was also put on the sex offenders list.
