ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office said 24 people were arrested during a three-day effort aimed at verifying whether sexual offenders and sexual predators were meeting state registration requirements. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement assisted with the operation, which took place from June 16 through June 18, 2026.
Detective R. DePete, the agency’s lead detective for sexual offender and career offender compliance investigations, led the operation. Investigators completed 105 compliance checks across Alachua County, according to the sheriff’s office.
