CHICAGO (WLS) — A stretch of dangerous heat is expected to settle over the Chicago area beginning Monday, with forecasters warning that heat index values could climb above 100 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Cook County from noon Monday through 10 p.m. Wednesday.
