Disneyland Resort's 'Soarin' Across America' debuts with new scenes for America's 250th anniversary

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Disneyland Resort is marking America’s 250th anniversary with a red, white and blue refresh for its popular “Soarin’” attraction.

The new flight-style experience, “Soarin’ Across America,” opened Thursday, July 2, at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim and will be offered for a limited run. The patriotic version of the ride also made its debut May 26 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The updated attraction takes riders over some of the country’s most recognizable landscapes, complete with immersive scents. Scenes include the golden fall foliage of America’s heartland, the quiet charm of a Southern bayou, the sweeping plains of the western frontier, rugged northern wilderness, bright island coastlines and other U.S. destinations.

Along with the fresh visuals and aromas, “Soarin’ Across America” includes a newly arranged version of the original score by composer Bruce Broughton.

Starting July 16, guests can also play a National Geographic trivia experience through the Disneyland Resort app. By scanning a QR code while waiting in line, visitors can “discover fun facts about the 50 states, and team up with your party to compete against other guests for a top spot on the digital leaderboard.”

Disneyland Resort visitors will find additional Fourth of July weekend entertainment across the resort, including special performances from U.S. military bands:

US Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors – July 2
1st Marine Division Band and 1st Marine Division Band – Jazz Combo – July 4
1st Marine Division Band and 1st Marine Division Band – Brass Band – July 5

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney Parks and this ABC station.
