Industry analysts estimated that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding carried a price tag topping $15 million, with more than $1 million in taxpayer-funded expenses tied to the event.
A source told The New York Times that reserving Madison Square Garden for two days would likely run between $1.2 million and $1.6 million.
Insurance alone would exceed $10,000, Erica Maurer, a partner at EMRG Media, told the outlet.
Additional event essentials — including lighting, audio, catering, floral arrangements, décor and staffing — could push costs into the $10 million to $12 million range.
City permit charges for the two-day gathering would also likely start at about $132,000, according to rates from the municipal permitting office.

Taxpayers would be expected to absorb more than $1 million in public-safety costs, covering the deployment of hundreds of police officers to secure and patrol Madison Square Garden.
Before the celebration, Swift and Kelce gave $26 million to 20 charities, fueling talk that the donation total may have mirrored the overall cost of their wedding festivities.
