Michigan Shopping Center Shooting Prompts Massive Police Response

At least two people were killed Friday afternoon after what authorities described as a “significant” shooting at Fairlane Town Center mall in Dearborn, Michigan.

Sources told FOX 2 Detroit that two people had died in the incident and that an innocent bystander was also struck by gunfire.

According to the station, one victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head, while another was shot in the abdomen.

Officials have not yet released details about a possible suspect or said what may have sparked the shooting.

The Dearborn Police Department urged the public in a social media alert to stay away from the area as officers worked to secure the active scene.

“We are asking residents and visitors to avoid the area while officers secure the scene and investigators conduct their work,” the department said.

Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
