President Donald Trump was seen watching himself on Fox News during America’s 250th birthday celebrations in Washington, D.C., shortly before he was due to appear on stage.
The broadcast featured a live shot of Trump and first lady Melania Trump seated together, with the television in front of them showing the same scene from behind — creating an unexpected on-screen loop.
A short time later on Saturday night, Trump was also spotted using his cellphone camera to check his hair and adjust his tie.
The unusual moment quickly amused viewers online, turning the 80-year-old president into a viral talking point once again.
One social media user wrote, “He even waved to everyone watching him watch himself. I love our President,” while another joked, “Probably thinking how great the back of his head looks.”
The scene was soon given a nickname by amused users: “Trumpception.”
Christian economist Robert P. Murphy also weighed in, quipping that the president was “thus spawning the creation of an infinity of trumps, pwning the libs on america’s birthday in the worst conceivable way.”
Trump watched the festivities from a presidential box, where he was joined by family members and several officials from his Cabinet.
First Lady Melania Trump was by the President’s side all evening, along with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, and his son, Donald Trump Jr.

Not all who witnessed the instance of Trump watching himself on the television were thrilled with what they saw.
One person was quick to critique Trump, saying he was displaying ‘Narcissistic narcissism with a side order of self-indulgence.’
Another said that Trump watching himself ‘sums up this joke of a POTUS and his propaganda arm.’
The President’s speech kicked off just after 11pm, after hours of delays due to rain and lightning in the Washington area.
