Weeks after 35-year-old Brooke Hanlon was discovered fatally stabbed inside her home in Chester, New Jersey, her husband has reportedly not been seen or heard from.
One of the only people to publicly address the case so far has been Brooke’s sister, Paige Haggerty.
Haggerty previously spoke in depth with Fox News Digital about the devastating loss of her sister, but she offered little comment regarding her brother-in-law.
Records show that 36-year-old James “Conor” Hanlon, who uses the name Conor, was raised in Boston’s Brighton neighborhood in Massachusetts.
Authorities were called to the couple’s residence on June 6 after a 911 call was placed.
According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, “An examination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of Brooke’s death to be multiple sharp force injuries and the manner of death as homicide.”
A neighbor of the Hanlons told Fox News Digital, “There was a lot of activity out there on the 6th. I’d talked to Conor a few times before. We mostly texted. We’ve lived here about a year, and he’d text me whenever bears were around.”
The neighbor said he and Conor had exchanged texts about bears spotted nearby in the days leading up to Brooke’s killing.
“We were actually doing that just the other day — I think around [June] 2nd — when he reached out because a bear had gotten into his trash. That was the last I heard from him.”

There are signs of possible movement at the Hanlon’s home following the initial response from agencies on June 6.
A white SUV with New Jersey plates matching one that was seen at the Hanlon residence before and after the homicide was spotted by Fox News in Boston on Tuesday.
The neighbor said he texted Conor, concerned about all the police activity, and said, “I saw a lot of cops out there that Saturday. I texted him, saying, ‘Hey man, I saw all the police at your house. If you guys need anything, let me know.’ He never responded after that.”
The prosecutor’s office has yet to reveal who called 911 on that day in June, who was inside the home at the time of the discovery, and whether Conor and the couple’s baby were present at the time of the murder.
Haggerty said the couple’s baby is staying with family, but no other details were immediately available.
Court records indicate Conor has no prior arrests or criminal history. He has not been accused of any crime or wrongdoing.
Authorities have yet to reveal any information about a suspect or person of interest
“Everything we do now is about preserving her legacy. That’s all we really can do. You never think something like this will happen to your family until it does. I never imagined Brooke’s life ending in such a violent, tragic way,” Haggerty said about her slain sister.
There is a reward of up to $1,000 for anyone who can provide information about the case.
Fox News Digital made calls to Conor Hanlon that were not immediately returned. It is unclear if he has retained a lawyer.
