Lollapalooza 2026 road closures begin around Chicago's Grant Park | What to know

CHICAGO — Grant Park is quickly being transformed as crews prepare the lakefront venue for Lollapalooza.

The setup is already affecting downtown traffic, with Lollapalooza road closures beginning Wednesday around the festival grounds.

The four-day Chicago music festival is scheduled to run from July 30 through Aug. 2.

This year’s Lollapalooza lineup features headliners Charli XCX, Tate McRae, Lorde, Olivia Dean, John Summit, Jennie, The Smashing Pumpkins and The XX.

Drivers should plan ahead for the following street closures tied to Lollapalooza setup, festival operations and teardown:
– Balbo from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive: July 1 – Aug. 9
– Jackson Boulevard from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive: July 21 – Aug. 8
– Balbo from Michigan Avenue to Columbus: July 27 – Aug. 3
– Jackson from Michigan to Columbus: July 27 – Aug. 3
– Columbus from Monroe Street to Roosevelt Road: July 27 – Aug. 3
– Columbus northbound, two center lanes, from 13th Street to Roosevelt: July 27 – Aug. 3
– Congress Plaza Drive from Michigan to Columbus: July 27 – Aug. 3
– Monroe from Michigan to DuSable Lake Shore Drive: July 27 – Aug. 3
