A Florida man accused of fatally shooting another man and then livestreaming the aftermath on Facebook has been arrested, authorities said.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced that 42-year-old Gedeonson Hyacinthe is facing a second-degree murder charge and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. The charges stem from the April 14, 2025, shooting death of a man whose name has not been released. Deputies said they arrived at the scene and found Hyacinthe standing over the victim, who had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Hyacinthe allegedly told investigators that he and the man had been arguing before the confrontation escalated.

Authorities said Hyacinthe was questioned after the shooting but later was no longer in custody. On Wednesday, members of the Fugitive Warrants Unit found him and arrested him without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators said the confrontation began at an intersection in the Pine Manor community, where Hyacinthe and the victim argued before the dispute turned physical. The sheriff’s office said the men “tussled,” and Hyacinthe claimed the victim was shot during the fight.

After the gunfire, Hyacinthe allegedly pulled out his phone and began broadcasting from the roadway on Facebook Live. During the livestream, authorities said, he spoke to viewers about what had happened and showed the active crime scene on camera.

Hyacinthe was initially detained at the scene and taken in for questioning as the Major Crimes Unit assumed control of the investigation. Officials have not explained why he was not already in custody before his arrest this week.

On Wednesday, Hyacinthe was back in custody. In addition to the murder and assault charges, he was also charged with two counts of drug possession. He is being held at the Lee County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 17.
