'Long Island Lolita' Amy Fisher's troubled son accused of brutally killing cat

The son of Amy Fisher, widely known from the “Long Island Lolita” case, has been accused of killing his pet cat in a gruesome incident that investigators say may have involved a microwave, officials said.

Brett Anthony Bellera, 25, and his girlfriend, Jennifer Armenti, 36, are each facing aggravated animal cruelty charges after their cat, Reaper, was discovered burned to death inside their Fort Lauderdale, Fla., apartment in December 2024, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

A forensic necropsy by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals found that the cat endured severe pain before dying from “involuntary heat exposure,” which could have come from microwave radiation, immersion in hot water or exposure to hot water vapor, WPLG reported.

Bellera, Fisher’s eldest son with her ex-husband, retired NYPD officer Louis Bellera, was charged while already in custody on unrelated allegations. His criminal history includes robbery and drug charges.

A friend of the couple alerted authorities to Reaper’s death on Dec. 15, 2024, according to arrest affidavits in the case.

Armenti told investigators she found the cat’s body on the bathroom floor and suspected he may have swallowed cleaning products. But animal care workers later found Reaper dead on the back patio, lying in a laundry basket in a large pool of blood.

Following a lengthy investigation, Armenti was arrested Wednesday by police in Miramar, while Bellera was charged earlier this month.

Records reviewed by the Daily Mail show Bellera’s rap sheet stretches back seven years, to when he was 18, and includes drug and robbery-related charges.

He grew up with his mom in the national spotlight after she became a tabloid sensation when, at the age of 17, she shot her married, 36-year-old lover Joey Buttafuoco’s wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, in the face in 1992.

Mary Jo Buttafuoco, who later publicly forgave Fisher, survived but was left with permanent facial paralysis. Her husband served four months in the slammer for statutory rape.

Fisher herself served seven years in prison before she was paroled in 1999. She married retired NYPD officer Louis Bellera and moved to Florida — but she told the Post in 2017 that she moved back to Long Island because her kids were “ostracized” there.

“My kids were ostracized in Florida. They had no friends. All the mothers thought their kids would get the Amy Fisher gene if they hung out with them,” Fisher said.

“Things got so bad for my [eldest] son, the school psychologist even suggested he drop out and get his GED,” she told the Post.

Fisher, now 51, later launched a raunchy webcam career from her Long Island home.

Her ex Lou Berella told The Post in 2017, he doesn’t “approve of what she’s doing, but we’re divorced two years now.

“I can’t force her not to do it,” he lamented.
