The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a woman was fatally stabbed Thursday afternoon during a fight with another woman.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A stabbing on Jacksonville’s mid-Westside left a woman dead Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
During a news briefing, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit Sgt. Cook said officers were called to Kings Road near Ella Street around 12:18 p.m. When they arrived, they found a woman in her early 40s with at least one stab wound. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died.
According to Sgt. Cook, the early investigation indicates the victim was stabbed with a sharp object that has not yet been identified during a physical altercation with another woman.

Investigators detained multiple people for questioning as they continue working to determine what happened before the deadly stabbing.
