A Disneyland cast member appeared to take an unexpected dip during a strange scene at the Anaheim theme park.
Video shared online shows a Disneyland employee, shirtless and wearing long white pants, jumping into the Rivers of America on Thursday and swimming through the water as stunned guests looked on.
In the clip, a woman can be heard reacting in disbelief while parkgoers gathered nearby watched the man move through the attraction’s waterfront area.
The swim lasted less than a minute before the man climbed out, pulled himself onto the shore and went over a fence separating the lake from tourists wearing Mickey ears.
The TikTok video, posted Thursday by the “disney insider” account pixiedustarchive, included the caption: “threw in his keys and walkie right before he hopped in 😭. hopefully they’re alright /:.”
Disneyland officials said the cast member was in the water only briefly before quickly heading off-stage. The park is reviewing the incident, and no injuries have been reported.
The cast member involved in the Rivers of America swim has not been publicly identified.
The unusual moment marks another odd episode at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Last month, a teenager also decided to go for a swim at the park — but did so while on a ride.
The 13-year-old was in a ride vehicle at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it began to crest the top of the waterfall and go down. For some reason, he decided to climb out of the vehicle, and he fell down the water track to the base of the ride.
He survived but had to be hospitalized.
Disney employees are also reeling from mass layoffs.
The “Mouse House” announced several hundred layoffs Tuesday in its third round of cuts this year, affecting Disney Entertainment Television, ESPN, corporate divisions and Disney Studios, according to SFist.
“These changes are part of our continual evaluation of how we manage resources and reinvest across the company as our industry continues to evolve,” a Disney spokesperson told the outlet.
The latest cuts come despite “Toy Story 5” delivering a massive box office debut after hitting theaters June 19.
