Authorities have identified the three people killed Sunday night in a shooting at the popular Bite of Seattle food festival, as a 2-year-old boy — the youngest victim — continues to recover in the hospital.
Junior Cee Niko Semo, 19; Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, 44; and Ashley Whitehead, 56, were fatally shot when gunfire erupted around 6 p.m. at the crowded Seattle Center event, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday, according to KOMO.
Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson confirmed Monday afternoon that Sanchez Villalba and Whitehead were bystanders caught in the crossfire, while Semo was involved in the shooting.
Semo suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the chaos and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sanchez Villalba also died at the scene after being shot in the torso, while Whitehead later died at a hospital from a gunshot wound to the pelvis, KOMO reported.
Four others were wounded in the Seattle Center shooting, including the 2-year-old boy who remains hospitalized.
Police have arrested a 15-year-old in connection with the deadly food festival shooting, while investigators said the location of a second suspect remains “unknown.”
