A visit to Yellowstone National Park turned tense when a bison moved dangerously close to tourists and briefly chased a child, creating a frightening moment for onlookers.
Video recorded by Brittany Peteler shows a woman walking past the bison as the animal slowly approaches a boardwalk. The woman continues on and reaches the other side without incident.
Just as Peteler and other witnesses appear relieved, another group that includes children starts moving toward the bison, prompting disbelief from those watching nearby.

Even with the risk clearly escalating, the group continues in the animal’s direction. Moments later, one of the children begins to run, and the bison gives chase for a short distance.
The close call comes only weeks after a man was attacked by a bison at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
