Zac Brown Band marked a major Fenway Park milestone with a surprise few concertgoers saw coming: a cruise getaway for every one of the 37,000 fans in attendance.
BOSTON — To celebrate their record-setting 15th straight sold-out show at Boston’s Fenway Park on Sunday, Zac Brown Band turned the concert into a massive fan appreciation moment, announcing that all 37,000 people in the crowd would receive a paid cruise vacation.
Frontman Zac Brown shared the news from the stage during the band’s Aug. 2 performance, just before launching into “Same Boat,” a track from their 2021 album. The Grammy-winning country group is best known for crowd favorites including “Chicken Fried,” “Toes” and “Knee Deep,” their breezy collaboration featuring Jimmy Buffett.
“Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy would say is crazy. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat,” Brown told fans inside the ballpark. “This is the biggest giveaway in history ladies and gentlemen, right here tonight at Fenway Park.”
According to a news release from the band, the cruise ticket giveaway is valued at more than $40 million, making it the largest giveaway ever staged in live entertainment history.

Fans who received the offer will be able to redeem the cruises on select Margaritaville at Sea sailings during the next year.
“We were honored to work alongside Zac to help bring this incredible surprise to life for his fans,” said Christopher Ivy, chief executive officer of Margaritaville at Sea. “This was an extraordinary way to thank the fans who have supported him throughout his career, and we’re proud to have helped make that incredible vision a once-in-a-lifetime reality.”
The band has already been giving away four cruise tickets at each stop on its “Love & Fear” tour, which is presented by Margaritaville at Sea. Winners from the tour will sail aboard the “Beachcomber,” the company’s first live music venue at sea.
Brown had a hand in curating the venue, being credited as a co-designer, according to the news release.
