A Central California man accused of sexually abusing several children at an unlicensed home daycare he ran with his wife has been arrested on dozens of felony allegations, authorities said.
Javier RiveraMojica, 67, of Shandon, was taken into custody after investigators looked into reported child sexual abuse at the daycare, which allegedly operated out of the couple’s home in the small San Luis Obispo County community near Paso Robles.
According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, RiveraMojica is accused of committing lewd and lascivious acts involving children younger than 14.
As part of the investigation, detectives served a search warrant at the residence in the 100 block of South Fourth Street, where authorities say RiveraMojica and his wife were running the unlicensed daycare.
Investigators believe the daycare gave RiveraMojica access to “numerous victims,” and they are continuing to examine whether more victims or witnesses have yet to come forward.

RiveraMojica was booked on a no-bail warrant. He faces 11 counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, as well as nearly two dozen felony sentencing enhancements, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said advocacy and support services have been made available to the alleged victims.
“The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to their safety and well-being throughout the investigation,” the department said.
Detectives urged anyone with information about the case — or anyone who believes they or someone they know may have had contact with RiveraMojica under similar circumstances — to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division.
The investigation remains ongoing.
