GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 36-year-old man was arrested Thursday after Gainesville police said they found evidence tying him to child sexual abuse material, including at least 10 illegal images. Investigators reported that 789 videos containing child sexual abuse material were identified through his Google account, and Anthony Terrell Leslie allegedly told officers he expected about 500 images or videos would be found on his phone.
According to police, Google filed eight CyberTipline reports in January 2026 involving suspected child sexual abuse material connected to accounts under the name “Anthony Leslie.” A Gainesville Police Department detective reviewed the tips and later received additional records from Google referencing 789 videos, most of which reportedly depicted prepubescent male and female victims. Investigators said at least two videos appeared to show sexual activity involving pubescent minors and dogs. Police also reported finding 111 additional images categorized as child erotica and/or age-questionable, along with two videos depicting bestiality involving adults.
Investigators said a subpoena issued to Cox Communications traced the internet activity to an apartment at 39th Avenue Apartments, located at 1101 NW 39th Avenue. Officers executed a search warrant at the residence on August 6.
After being read his Miranda rights, Leslie allegedly admitted downloading child pornography and saving it on his phone. Police said he first claimed it had happened only once, but after detectives told him Google records suggested the activity dated back to August 2024, he reportedly acknowledged searching for child pornography, though he said it was not something he did every day. Leslie also allegedly admitted downloading the material in Gainesville and in Oklahoma, where he lived until 2025.
The detective also noted that another email account linked to Leslie had been the subject of two CyberTips in Oklahoma, one in 2022 and another in 2025. A family member reportedly told investigators that Leslie had sought out child pornography when he was a minor, and police said Leslie confirmed that account.
Investigators further reported that a residential search warrant was served in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2013, but authorities at the time were unable to confirm Leslie as the suspect. Police said Leslie did not consent to a search of his electronic devices during that earlier investigation.
Leslie allegedly told detectives he believed at least 500 child pornography images or videos would be located on his phone. According to the detective, an initial review of Leslie’s primary phone revealed “numerous” videos containing child pornography. A full forensic search of the device is underway, and investigators said additional charges could be filed.
The detective reported that when Leslie was being taken into custody, a second phone was found concealed in the seat, and Leslie reportedly admitted that he had tried to reset both of his phones when officers arrived at his door.
Leslie has initially been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. He has no local criminal history, and his full criminal history is unavailable because those documents are not uploaded to the court system for crimes involving minors. Senior Judge Bo Bayer set bail at $1,000,000.
