A New York man facing several violent criminal charges fatally shot his parents weeks after they posted $10,000 bail to get him out of jail, then died by suicide, authorities said.
Justin Sislo, 35, killed his parents Friday at their home in Madison before turning the gun on himself, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office told WSYR.
Deputies found Sislo, his mother, Donna Walker-Sislo, 72, and his father, Steve Sislo, 76, dead inside the couple’s home after seeing their “obviously deceased” bodies through a window, according to the report.
Less than a month earlier, the couple had paid $10,000 to secure their son’s release from jail following his arrest in an alleged attack on his girlfriend, WSYR reported, citing court records.
Before his release, Sislo had been charged with multiple counts of second-degree strangulation involving his 56-year-old girlfriend, along with several firearm-related offenses, according to the outlet.
Investigators said they detected the smell of propane or gasoline inside the home and recovered a firearm, despite Sislo being prohibited from having guns after his recent arrest.
Court records show Sislo had been scheduled to appear in court on August 21.
Authorities had previously been called to a domestic incident involving Sislo and his father in 2024, though no charges were filed in that case, WSYR reported.
