The summer transfer window is back in full swing, with clubs across Europe working against the clock before the market closes on September 1. Expect another lively spell as teams chase statement signings and key reinforcements for the new season.

Here is the latest transfer news and inside track from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

Forest talk over £13.6m move for Andre

Elsewhere, a highly rated 20-year-old talent in Brazil continues to attract attention after making a rapid impression. Having only made his league debut a year ago, he has already emerged as one of the standout young midfielders in the Brazilian top flight.

AC Milan tried to secure his signature in January, but the player opted to stay with Corinthians and complete the season. Crystal Palace have also been monitoring his progress as Premier League interest grows.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, are still seeking midfield additions after Elliot Anderson completed his move to Manchester City.

Forest have already lodged offers for Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall and Tijjani Reijnders, who has since left City to join Al Qadsiah.

Wrexham close on £8m move

Wrexham are closing in on a move for highly-rated Angers wing-back Jacques Ekomie as they look to bolster their side for a Premier League push.

Phil Parkinson has been keen to add to his squad before next week’s deadline and it’s understood there has been a breakthrough with Angers for Ekomie, who is valued at around £8million.

Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac were in attendance for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Watford and Parkinson revealed he had a ‘good chat’ with the Hollywood pair about transfers.

Ekomie has been a man in demand this summer with interest from Hamburg and West Ham but Wrexham are confident they have won the race to land the 23-year-old.

Wrexham’s first bid for Ekomie, rejected on Friday, was £4.3m.

They are also trying for Millwall forward Femi Azeez and Ipswich’s attacking midfielder Anis Mehmeti.

Tottenham seal Savinho deal

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Manchester City winger Savinho.

Daily Mail Sport reported last week that a fee had been agreed comprising £75m plus £10m in add-ons.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side lost 3-0 at Brentford in their Premier League opener and their new signing will come into the mix ahead of tomorrow’s League Cup clash with Charlton. Spurs are also expected to bring in Omar Marmoush in a double swoop from City.

Savinho said: ‘It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here. It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.

‘As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.’

De Zerbi described Savinho as ‘a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.

‘We’re very pleased to have him with us, and I’m looking forward to working with him, helping him continue to grow and seeing him bring his personality to the team.’

City set to go back to Enzo

Manchester City are expected to go back in for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues previously set City a deadline of 5pm on August 13 to pay £120m to get the deal done – a deadline City did not meet.

But contact has continued with his agent Javier Pastore so City know the 25-year-old is open to coming and now they are set to come back in for the midfielder, who played the final half-hour of Chelsea’s 3-2 win away at Fulham on Monday night.
