A male juror from the Lindsay Clancy mistrial says people pushing online conspiracy theories against her husband would likely abandon those claims if they heard the devastating 911 call he made after finding the couple’s children.
“I don’t believe in the conspiracy theory that [Patrick Clancy] was the one who did it,” Juror No. 10, Nick Dargie, said in an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America” that aired Thursday.
Dargie said the emergency call would be enough to silence those who continue to allege, without evidence, that the grieving father killed Dawson, 3, Cora, 5, and 8-month-old Callan.
The recording was so disturbing that Judge William Sullivan barred it from public release, and Dargie said hearing it in court left a lasting emotional mark.
“I’ll never forget [the 911 call.] That was frightening. I never heard something like that, a scream like that coming out of someone’s mouth; it’s horrifying,” the 25-year-old juror recalled.
According to the case presented in court, Lindsay Clancy admitted she brought the children individually into the basement of the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home and strangled them with elastic exercise bands after sending her husband out to run an errand.
She then allegedly injured herself before jumping from a second-story window in what authorities described as an apparent suicide attempt, an act that left her using a wheelchair.
Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, has said Clancy is distressed by the conspiracy theories surrounding the deaths and her husband’s role.
“She knew that it was just terrible what he was going through,” Kevin Reddington told CBS on Wednesday.
