A Wisconsin man accused of shooting and killing his father is now scheduled to stand trial early next year.
Gregory Juedes, 47, faces a charge of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of his father, 74-year-old Daniel Juedes Sr. A criminal complaint reviewed by Law&Crime says a neighbor called authorities at 7:35 a.m. on Nov. 24, 2024, to report a “disturbance with a weapon” at the Juedes home in Appleton, Wisconsin. The neighbor told dispatchers he had seen a white BMW leave the residence, return for a period of time, and then drive away again.
Officers who responded to the home detected the smell of gunpowder and found Daniel Juedes dead on the floor of a bedroom, according to police.
The complaint says an officer later used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, whose driver was identified as Gregory Juedes. Authorities allege he then ran from police before multiple law enforcement officers physically restrained him and placed him under arrest. During the struggle, Gregory Juedes allegedly attempted to reach for a lieutenant’s weapon.
After his arrest, Gregory Juedes was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. While in the ambulance, the complaint says, he made several unsolicited statements to police, including: “I think I got him with every round. And then one in the back of the head for good measure.”
He allegedly continued, saying, “I went back to check and kicked him in the a— [to] make sure he was down for the count.”
Investigators said they recovered a Canik TP9SFx firearm from Gregory Juedes’ vehicle.
Along with the homicide count, Gregory Juedes is charged with fleeing or eluding an officer in a vehicle and resisting or obstructing an officer. His trial date has been set for Feb. 7, 2027, and a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2027.
