Meghan Markle has given viewers a glimpse of Prince Archie’s American accent in a new video montage capturing the Sussex family’s time in the UK.
The Duchess of Sussex shared the footage on Instagram on Sunday. Set to Wham!’s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, the montage shows Meghan, Prince Harry and their two children enjoying a series of outdoor adventures.
Despite the upbeat music, Archie’s voice can be heard clearly in parts of the clip. The young prince appears in a rowing boat with Harry and his sister, Princess Lilibet, before the family is shown fishing on the lake.
Archie was born in the UK but was not yet a year old when the Sussexes moved to California six years ago. In one scene, he says, “I got this” in a distinctly American-sounding accent while Harry attaches a hook to a fishing rod.
However, People Magazine, often viewed as a publication favored by the Sussexes in the United States, suggested the seven-year-old sounded notably British in another moment as he cheered, “Go! Go!”
The 34-second video, shared by 45-year-old Meghan, also offered her 4.8 million followers a peek at Lilibet’s apparent love of pink. The young royal was seen warming her bare feet beside a fire, with her brightly painted toenails on display.
Later, Lilibet rides a pink tasselled bicycle, complete with a doll strapped into the rear seat, as she travels along a park track toward a group of deer. Harry can then be heard calling, “Archie!” as his son runs into view wearing a pink shirt and blue wellington boots.
Archie and Lilibet’s cousin, 11-year-old Princess Charlotte, has also shown a fondness for nail polish in public. She previously wore striking blue polish in a Wales family portrait released to mark her parents’ 15th wedding anniversary in April.
The princess chose an icy blue shade that reflected the light, having previously been seen with bright pink nails at Wimbledon last July.

Charlotte also displayed a bubblegum-pink manicure as she reacted enthusiastically while watching Carlos Alcaraz face Jannik Sinner in a tense Centre Court final.
The young royal, reportedly a keen Alcaraz supporter, appeared absorbed by the match. Sitting with her parents and older brother, Prince George, she cheered, waved and applauded from the stands.
At several points, Charlotte lifted her hands to her face, drawing attention to her vivid pink nail polish.
In Meghan’s latest footage, the family’s Labrador, Pula, races along a wooded path bordered by ferns and trees. From the lakeside, the dog watches eagerly as Harry, Archie and Lilibet sit together in a rowing boat.
The montage included one of the children’s wellies splashing in a puddle, while Harry and Meghan were also seen walking hand in hand down a country lane before the Duchess turned to the camera to say: ‘Come on, you – come on!’
The video – posted on Meghan’s Instagram account – has a Union flag and red heart emoji side by side throughout, in place of a caption.
The Duchess of Sussex was seen wearing a pair of Le Chameau ‘Jameson’ boots – a brand loved and frequently worn by the Princess of Wales.
To accompany her boots, Meghan also opted for the Cyana Convertible Puffer Jacket in a stylish brown colour, which retails for $398.
The family have recently moved to their new home in the Cotswolds but will keep their mansion in Montecito, California. They also own a holiday home in Portugal.
They have recently said they are ‘happy to be back’ in the UK, and the children have started at school already.
This is in spite of their row with Buckingham Palace over Uganda’s withdrawal from Prince Harry’s Invictus Games – a sporting event founded by the Duke for wounded military veterans.
Archie, who was born in the UK but less than a year old when the Sussexes relocated across the pond six years ago, was heard saying ‘I got this’ in a distinct American accent, while his father fixed up a hook on a fishing rod.
Lilibet’s cousin, 11-year-old Princess Charlotte, has also publicly showcased her love for nail varnish. The first time Charlotte was seen wearing nail polish in public was at Wimbledon last July (pictured).
Sussexes Blame King’s Letter for Uganda Invictus Exit
Insiders close to the couple said Uganda’s exit was a ‘direct result’ of a letter written by King Charles, which insisted they are ‘private citizens’, not working royals.
Charles’s letter – sent to senior government officials, military leaders, Lord Lieutenants and the couple’s team – made it clear that, while the family was back in the country, they were not back in the Firm.
After the King’s announcement, Uganda’s chief of defence and son of the president, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, appeared to want to distance himself from Harry’s project, suggesting he did not want to be associated with this ‘Harry-Meghan nonsense’.
He said on X earlier this week: ‘In order not to be construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere, Uganda hereby withdraws from the Invictus Games.’
The Sussexes said they were ‘surprised’ to have received the letter from the King following rumours they might have had a ‘half in, half out’ arrangement on their return. But the letter appears to have put an end to all hope of this idea.
Insiders close to the couple said that the ‘only people suffering’ as a result of the monarch’s letter are the Ugandan competitors who were set to take part in the upcoming games.
‘They made it very clear that the reason they pulled out was a direct result of perceived guidance from the Lord Chamberlain,’ they told People magazine, which is widely considered the Sussexes’ preferred publication in the US.
Meghan and Harry left the UK six years ago to enjoy personal and financial freedom in the US before moving back just over a fortnight ago.
A bitter argument has existed between the Sussexes and the royals back home since they left, after it was decided that they would not be allowed to have taxpayer-funded police security when visiting the UK, as they were no longer working royals.
