Wounded survivor dials for help with her nose after rampaging North Carolina couple shoots her twice

A courageous survivor cheated death after being shot multiple times by a suspected North Carolina killer couple — and reportedly used the tip of her nose to call her boyfriend for help during the attack.

Autumn Setola, 20, was fighting for her life in a local hospital Tuesday after suspects Cory Armstrong, 29, and Camryn Moore, 26, allegedly opened fire inside their Gastonia home Thursday morning.

“She is independent. She is strong. … She’s a very kind girl,” Monica Shelley-Henson, the mother of Setola’s boyfriend, Jacob “Jake” Henson, told The Post Tuesday.

“She’s definitely someone who will meet you where you are.”

The alleged killer couple, who also lived at the home on 2661 Forbes Road, reportedly killed two people and injured Setola and her stepbrother, Keaton. The shooting spree sent shock waves through the suburban North Carolina neighborhood, located only a few miles from the South Carolina border.

Setola was shot twice in the violence and could not use her arms. Despite her injuries, she managed to retrieve her phone and dial her boyfriend by pressing it with her nose.

“She said, ‘I’ve been shot by Cory,’” Henson told WCNC, recalling the terrifying moment he heard his girlfriend’s voice. “I ran. I had no shoes on. My shirt is backwards.”

Shelley-Henson said Setola had been shot a second time and “couldn’t move her arms and didn’t understand why,” but still managed to call Jake by using her nose.

Henson rushed barefoot from his home, jumped into his car and sped toward the Forbes Road residence while calling 911.

“[I was] driving over there and calling 911 to let them know,” he said.

Henson told the outlet that he had no idea what awaited him when he arrived and was consumed by fear and uncertainty.

“I was freaking out. Please let her live. I didn’t know how bad it was,” he said, according to WCNC.

By the time Henson reached the house, paramedics were already at the scene.

Officials said Friday that Setola and her stepbrother were taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Shelley-Henson said Setola remains in critical but stable condition and has been undergoing surgery each day.

Victoria “Heather” Moore, 50, and Josiah Bumgardner, 38 — the mother and uncle of Camryn Moore — were also found dead at the scene by emergency responders, according to police.

Josiah had previously transitioned from a female, Megan, and had been identifying as male, according to the family.

The alleged killer couple then tore off across state lines into southern Ohio, triggering a manhunt that ended Friday when both died of gunshot wounds in a suspected double-suicide following a wild police chase.

North Carolina authorities told The Post that both deaths are being investigated as a possible double-suicide, though Ohio State Highway Patrol has not yet confirmed the finding.

It remains unclear what sparked the pair’s alleged bloody rampage.
