Comedian Carrot Top was hospitalized in Las Vegas on Friday following an apparent suicide attempt, according to a report.
The performer, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, was taken to a local hospital after the incident in the Las Vegas area, TMZ reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
His Friday evening show at the Luxor was canceled. Thompson has maintained a long-running residency at the Las Vegas resort.
Jami Schlicher, Thompson’s representative, said the veteran Las Vegas entertainer is recovering at the hospital and receiving medical care.
“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” Schlicher told TMZ.
“His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern and prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.”
Thompson, 61, is widely recognized for his bright red hair, prop-based comedy and energetic live performances.
