Penelope Cruz brought classic red carpet glamour to the San Sebastian Film Festival on Sunday, arriving in a plunging black gown that immediately drew attention.
The 52-year-old actress has spent the past few months travelling across Europe while promoting a number of new film projects.
For her latest appearance, Penelope chose an elegant black ball gown for the screening of La Bola Negra.
Penelope plays a supporting role in the Spanish-language film, whose title translates as The Black Ball.
The Spanish epic, directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, features Penelope as a lively cabaret performer entertaining Nationalist troops.
The appearance marked another stop on a hectic promotional tour for the actress, who travelled from the Venice Film Festival directly to Toronto.

She has been promoting two films that premiered at Cannes: La Bola Negra and Florian Zeller’s Bunker.
Penelope became emotional when Bunker received the longest standing ovation of the 2026 Venice Film Festival so far.
Following the screening, the audience rose to applaud the film for an impressive 15 and a half minutes.
That response left Bunker just two minutes short of the longest standing ovation in recent Venice Film Festival history: the 17-minute reception given to The Room Next Door in 2024.
Bunker is the ninth film to feature Penelope and her husband, Javier Bardem, together on screen. The movie is already earning rave reviews, including a four-star assessment from Our News Outlet’s Brian Viner.
The psychological thriller casts the couple as Sofia and Miguel, a married pair facing a serious crisis.

Directed by Olivia Wilde, the film follows an uptight couple, Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Olivia), whose marriage is on thin ice.
The couple extend a dinner invitation to their charismatic and sexually uninhibited upstairs neighbours, Piña (Penelope) and Hawk (Edward Norton).
