Teresa Giudice’s Daughter Milania Receives Professional Care

Teresa Giudice’s daughter Milania is receiving professional care following a troubling confrontation involving her family and police at an airport.

A spokesperson for the 20-year-old reality star said Thursday that Milania is seeking treatment and relying on her family after enduring “a very challenging period,” worsened by the death of her childhood friend Victoria Zardoya at age 20 in late July.

The statement followed a disturbing social media video, apparently posted by Milania, in which she repeatedly lashed out at her mother, 54-year-old Teresa, and her 25-year-old sister, Gia, while the family moved through Tampa International Airport on Wednesday. Police officers could be seen nearby.

“Milania is deeply loved by her family and friends, and all of us are doing everything we can to support her as she navigates an incredibly difficult time in her life, particularly following the devastating loss of her best friend, Victoria,” said Maria DeSantis, Milania’s manager and a longtime friend of the family.

DeSantis added, “She is currently surrounded by people who love her and is under the care of professionals who are working with her and her family. Milania is a good-hearted and caring young woman who has been going through a very challenging period, and our focus right now is simply on her health, healing and well-being.”

“In time, she hopes that being open about her experiences may help other young people facing their own struggles, but for now, we ask for compassion and privacy as she and her family continue to navigate this together,” DeSantis said.

Milania’s father and Teresa’s former husband, Joe Giudice, asked the public to take his daughter’s recent difficulties into account before judging her. He made the comments in a statement to Page Six on Thursday.

“Milania is a good girl. She has a big heart, she loves deeply, and she cares enormously about the people in her life,” he said. “She is also young and going through a very difficult period right now.”

Giudice said the death of Zardoya had affected his daughter “tremendously.”

“Losing someone you love is incredibly painful, and grief does not have a timeline,” he said. “She has been trying to process that loss while also dealing with the pressures that come with growing up in the public eye.”

Giudice, who was deported to his native Italy after being convicted of multiple felony fraud offenses, also urged people not to form an opinion of Milania based solely on a single social media video.

“I know my daughter. I know her heart, and I know that what people may see from the outside does not tell the whole story of what someone is experiencing privately,” he said. “There have been difficult moments, but those moments do not define who Milania is as a person.”

He added, “I love my daughter, and I will always stand beside her.”

In the since-deleted video, Milania could be heard speaking in an elevated voice and repeating, “This is what we do now, everybody, this is what we do.”

Teresa appeared composed but tense as she tried to de-escalate the situation, telling her daughter, “I love you. I love you.”

Gia, however, did not appear interested in resolving the confrontation. “Let her do what she wants to do,” she said.

‘I love you,’ Teresa continues. ‘I love you.’

As Teresa attempts to reason with her daughter, Gia urges her mother to let the situation go. ‘Let her…’ an exasperated Gia says, holding her palm towards her sister.

‘Shut the f*** up,’ Milania says.

The video was apparently posted by Milania but was deleted shortly after it was uploaded, according to TMZ.

Per a CAD log obtained by the publication, Milania had allegedly recently been released from a hospital when police were called to Tampa International Airport.

The log says police were told Milania was experiencing ‘suicidal thoughts/mental breakdown.’ 

The CAD log says the call was classified as an ‘Assist Person’ at the United Airlines ticket counter in the airport’s main terminal.

The log also reportedly references a possible Baker Act situation.

The Baker Act is a Florida law that allows people to be held for a temporary, involuntary mental health examination for up to 72 hours.

New details about the situation have since come to light, with Page Six reporting a call for assistance was made to the Tampa International Airport Police Department on September 23 at 2.20pm.

No police report was created and no arrest or medical transport was made, according to Page Six.

The site also reported that Milania had enrolled in anger management classes in August.

Milania had apparently run away from Teresa, Gia, a counselor, and others at the airport, The Sun reports.

A law enforcement source told the publication police were contacted on Wednesday around 2.20pm after ‘multiple females said they needed police ASAP.’

The source said police were informed Milania had ‘just been released from the hospital.’

Milania was found 12 minutes after police were contacted and the issue was sorted, with the group boarding their flight together, the source added. 

It’s been a particularly turbulent year for Milania, who had been arrested for alleged domestic violence in May. 

In a report obtained by Our News Outlet, Milania ‘threw candles and food’ during the alleged incident at her mother’s New Jersey home before her sister Gabriella, 22, called 911 claiming her ‘sister was acting erratically.’

Milania was accused of ‘causing bodily injury’ and ‘simple assault’ following the alleged incident at her mother’s New Jersey residence.

The Montville Township Police report alleges that Milania was ‘throwing food [and] candles’ during the ‘domestic violence dispute.’ No weapons were involved and no injuries were reported, with Milania charged with one count of simple assault. The victim was never identified.

She has not addressed the incident besides a TikTok video posted in June in which she said: ‘It is what it is, s*** happens in life. Just become a better person and talk about it.’

The reality star also noted that she ‘was not in a good area in [her] life.’ 

Milania is also mourning the loss of her childhood friend Victoria Zardoya, who died just days after sustaining fatal injuries in a ‘devastating fall’ on July 24 while exploring historic ruins in Florida. She was 20.

Teresa shares daughters Milania, Gia, Gabriella and Audriana with her ex-husband, Joe Giudice. 

The former couple was heavily featured on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, even covering the fraud conviction that sent them to prison.

In 2009, they filed for bankruptcy, which set off a chain of legal battles culminating in the two being convicted of various forms of fraud.

Five years later, the two were handed prison sentences; Joe’s status as an illegal immigrant was also brought into question, as he had never gained citizenship despite living in the United States since he was a year old.

At the end of his time being incarcerated, Joe went to live with his family in Italy to await the results of his deportation hearing and subsequent appeals.

Teresa was released from prison in December 2015 after serving 11 months of her 15-month sentence.  

The Giudices separated in December of 2019, months after Joe was released, and finalized their divorce in September.

Giudice is now married to Luis Ruelas.
