GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jameiris Coffee, 18, was arrested yesterday after authorities said he crawled beneath a fence to enter Gainesville High School property for a meeting with a female student.
According to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report, an officer said Coffee bypassed campus security at about 2:06 p.m. on September 25 by crawling under the perimeter fence in a wooded area. Coffee is a former Gainesville High School student who now attends Siatech Mycroschool, the report states.
After being read his Miranda rights, Coffee reportedly told officers that an unidentified female student asked him to meet her in the stairwell of east Building 25, where they had what he described as a “romantic rendezvous.” He also reportedly acknowledged crawling through a gap beneath the fence because he knew he would not have been permitted to enter the school through the main entrance.
