Mayor Zohran Mamdani is set to join Jimmy Kimmel as a guest Monday night, when “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” brings its usually California-based production to New York City for a special weeklong run.
Mamdani’s appearance will be featured during the ABC late-night program’s five-night engagement at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House. Known for his strong presence on social media, the mayor will be among the show’s headline-making guests.
The week’s lineup also includes music legend Paul McCartney, actor Billy Crystal, comedian Pete Davidson, rock star Bruce Springsteen, radio personality Howard Stern and Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is typically taped in Hollywood, making the Brooklyn residency a notable change of scenery for the late-night series.
Kimmel, a prominent critic of President Trump, returned to television earlier this month following a summer break, marking the occasion with the show’s 4,000th episode.

The late-night host made national headlines in 2025 when the program was temporarily pulled from the air after he stood by controversial remarks concerning the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
During his first monologue after returning, Kimmel criticized FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and portrayed himself as a defender of free speech. He did not apologize, however, for connecting Kirk’s alleged killer to the MAGA movement.
Kimmel has also said ABC declined to broadcast a recent interview with James Talarico, the Democratic candidate seeking a U.S. Senate seat in Texas, because of threats from Trump’s Federal Communications Commission.
