A 15-year-old Wisconsin boy is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager in Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office identified the suspect as Robbiel Stokes, who prosecutors have charged with first-degree intentional homicide. According to a criminal complaint reviewed by Law&Crime, officers responded to reports of a shooting in Milwaukee shortly before 5 p.m. on Sept. 19. They found 16-year-old Camron Bowen in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows Camron aboard a county bus minutes before the shooting, standing behind Stokes. The two teenagers were seen engaging in what prosecutors described as a “heated” exchange before getting off the bus, according to the complaint.
The principal of the school attended by both teens told investigators that Camron and Stokes had been involved in a fight three days before the shooting.
Prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for Stokes on Friday, but he remains at large. Speaking with local NBC affiliate WTMJ, Camron’s mother, Jennifer Cassidy, said, “I’m happy that I know who it is. I’m happy that I know it was exactly what I suspected. It is just hard because he is not caught yet. I just don’t want this happening to anybody else.”
Camron had turned 16 just one week before his death.
