MAGA darling Ann Coulter delivers devastating verdict for Republicans

Ann Coulter is the latest conservative voice warning that Republicans could be heading toward a devastating midterm election.

Coulter, 64, once an ally of Donald Trump but now a vocal critic, predicted that the GOP could suffer an unprecedented defeat in November.

“Republicans are about to be completely wiped out in the midterms,” she said on her podcast, Unsafe. “This is going to be a bloodbath like we haven’t seen before.”

She pointed to Trump’s management of the war in Iran as a central reason Democrats are leading in several pivotal races, according to recent polling.

“We have replaced the leadership, the mullahs running Iran, with either the equivalent or worse mullahs,” Coulter said, referring to the developments after the ayatollah was killed.

“We’ve made Iran way stronger. It turns out they don’t even need a nuke. They can just shut down the Strait of Hormuz.”

Trump, however, has insisted that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and under American control.

Although Coulter blamed Trump for the conflict and its fallout, she defended Vice President JD Vance, arguing that he is being singled out to absorb responsibility for the administration’s broader decisions.

She cited Trump's handling of the war in Iran as a main reason polling shows Democrats leading in key races

Coulter identified Trump’s handling of the Iran war as a key factor behind Democratic gains in critical-race polling

“Of course, everyone’s blaming the one person who opposed the war in the administration, JD Vance,” she said. “We might want to go back and look at who were the biggest cheerleaders for this war.”

Trump is entering the final weeks before the elections with record-low approval ratings, an unpopular war in Iran and elevated gas prices weighing on his administration.

Privately, many Republican insiders in Washington are preparing for a major Democratic wave that could cost the party control of Congress and leave Trump as a lame-duck president during his final two years in office.

The latest polls show Republicans trailing, particularly in crucial Senate contests in Ohio, North Carolina and Michigan. The party is also facing pressure in traditionally safe Republican states, including Iowa and Texas.

The prediction market’s move toward Democratic control has been especially striking because Republicans maintained an advantage in the Senate market for much of the campaign.

The shift has political consultants preparing for an electoral assault reminiscent of the 2006 midterms during President George W. Bush’s administration.

Bush faced a similar political landscape that year, including historically low approval ratings, an unpopular war in Iraq and gas prices running higher than usual.

Republicans warned voters against backing Democrats, invoking concerns about California liberal Nancy Pelosi becoming speaker of the House.

What do you think is the real reason Republicans are losing support ahead of the midterms?

But Democrats stormed into the Congressional majority anyway, gaining 31 seats in the House of Representatives and six seats in the Senate.

‘It was a thumping,’ Bush famously said after the election.

A recent CNN/SSRS poll showed that just 29 percent of US adults said they approve of the president’s handling of foreign affairs while 71 percent disapproved.

Republicans currently hold 53 Senate seats compared with 47 for Democrats and have an advantage of 219-214 in the House.

The battle for the lower chamber is looking increasingly difficult for Republicans, with Democrats currently projected to hold around 230 seats compared with 200 for Republicans.

Democrats need 218 seats for a majority there and would need 51 Senate seats to be able to avoid a tiebreaking vote from Vance.
