Staff report
ALACHUA, Fla. – Corey Mathew Parlow, 27, of Lake City, is facing charges after authorities say he burglarized at least one unit at an Alachua storage facility and tried to sell a dishwasher, toolbox and other property taken from the unit.
The victim contacted authorities on Aug. 4 after discovering that the lock on her unit at People’s Choice Storage, located at 14709 NW 129th Terrace in Alachua, had been removed and replaced. According to the responding Alachua Police Department officer, facility employees conduct periodic inspections of the units. Investigators believe the replacement lock may have been intended to conceal the burglary from staff.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed a red Ford F-150 entering the property at approximately 4:08 p.m. on Aug. 1 with an empty truck bed. About 39 minutes later, the truck left carrying a dishwasher, a workbench-style toolbox and additional items. The property matched the victim’s report, with the stolen goods valued at more than $1,800.
The officer determined that the truck was registered to Parlow’s wife.
Flock license plate reader data allegedly tracked the truck north on U.S. Highway 441 toward Fort White. A Flock camera near the Santa Fe Bar later captured the vehicle, reportedly showing the stolen property still loaded in the truck bed.
