Alison Hammond has shared a video from her hospital bed after being taken off air during Friday’s live edition of This Morning, where she was seen clutching her chest.
The 51-year-old presenter said doctors were checking her heart after she experienced palpitations around an hour into the programme, while she and co-presenter Dermot O’Leary were speaking to TV vet Dr Scott Miller.
After being taken to hospital by ambulance, Alison said: ‘Hello my lovelies, I know you’re all worried about me. Honestly, I’m fine first of all.’
She continued: ‘I’m getting my old ticker checked out. I’ve been having a few palpitations, so I’m getting everything checked. I think I’m OK, and I’m hoping it’s just a little panic attack or something like that.’
‘I love you all, and thank you for your messages. I’m so sorry I had to leave you.’
‘I wouldn’t usually do that — I would never leave a TV show — but I wasn’t very well. I’m going to be all right, and the doctors are so lovely and are checking me out.’
Alison added: ‘Hopefully everything is fine — everything is fine actually. Look at me, I’m rocking this gown and I’ve still got my makeup on from This Morning. Lush, and love you babs.’
Earlier in the broadcast, Alison was seen at the edge of the frame suddenly clutching her chest before Dermot hurried her away from the sofa.
Dr Scott appeared concerned as he tried to continue the segment, while a loud retch could be heard in the background.

Alison Hammond, 51, shared a video from her hospital bed after being taken off air live on This Morning on Friday, saying her heart was being checked.

Alison suddenly clutched her chest before Dermot guided her away from the sofa about an hour into the programme.

Alison appeared to be feeling unwell shortly before she was taken ill.

Earlier, she joked that she would ‘do anything to have a day off.’

Ambulances were seen outside the ITV studios, while a source told Our News Outlet that Alison was able to walk into the vehicle.
The programme then went to an advert break. When it returned, Dermot was alone on set and told viewers: ‘Welcome back to This Morning. Ali is feeling just a little unwell, so she’s had to duck out. Hopefully she’ll be back in a second.’
He later confirmed that Alison would not be returning, saying: ‘Ali’s feeling a little unwell, so I’ll be here for the rest of the show.’
A source told Our News Outlet at the time: ‘She’s gone to hospital, but we think she’s OK. She walked into the ambulance after leaving the studio.’
Viewers quickly shared their concern for the presenter online. One person wrote on X: ‘What on earth has happened with Alison? Hope she’s OK.’
Another posted: ‘What just happened to Alison Hammond? Frightening.’
‘I am very worried about Alison. I hope she is OK — she’s a great presenter,’ another viewer added.

Aside from her romantic life, she’s had a busy schedule in recent weeks, juggling This Morning with promoting the return of her Channel 4 show Great British Bake Off.
She has reprised her role as presenter on GBBO alongside Noel Fielding and new judge Nigella Lawson.
The star has been open about her healthy lifestyle, regularly sharing videos of her exercise regime and her diet changes.

Alison began her transformation five years ago when she started working with a personal trainer to regain her fitness and began a stricter diet.
Since then, the TV personality has also taken up Reformer Pilates and boxing, sharing videos of herself exercising online.
Speaking to the Radio Times about her improved regime, she said: ‘I’ve had a personal trainer for five years, even when I was at my biggest. But I had a childish mentality with regards to food, especially toffees – but now I’ll only have a couple a day.
‘We’re not getting any younger, are we babes? You realise at some point you’ve got to look after yourself. I’ve got a speaker under my pillow to play relaxing music, and a sleep tracker.’
Alison’s health kick started after she discovered she was pre-diabetic, the point where your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be diabetic.
Previously speaking to Women’s Health, she said: ‘My mum had Type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out that I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening. I thought, “I have to be an adult about this”. The sweets had to stop, and the fatty foods.’
As she works to maintain her figure after making lifestyle changes, Alison gave an insight into the measures she has taken including taking up Reformer Pilates because she is as ‘stiff as a board’.
She added: ‘You feel absolutely incredible after it. I really need a good stretch – so Reformer Pilates has been brilliant for me.
‘I also do this early-morning circuit class from the brilliant Steve Hensel at Blue Zone. I’ll go at 6.30am and do a full hour, it’s a proper old-school gym.’
Alison said that she leaves the gym feeling ‘amazing’ after working hard, but while she is keen to try things, there is one wellness practice she won’t adopt.
She told Closer Magazine: ‘I did try one of those cold plunge pools once – and absolutely not! It lasted about a minute. I was like, “Why am I literally trying to kill myself?”‘
