Kylie Jenner is stepping into her first major scripted acting role with Bachelorette Weekend, a new thriller series in development at Hulu.
Jenner’s casting was announced Monday, along with news that her sister Kim Kardashian will executive-produce the series alongside her.
Based on an upcoming book, the television adaptation will see Jenner portray a bride whose murder leaves her bridesmaids as the leading suspects.
Kardashian reportedly suggested Jenner for the part and contacted her younger half-sister about the opportunity. Jenner is currently dating Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet.
According to Deadline, Kardashian received the script as a possible producing project and believed it would be an ideal starring vehicle for Jenner. She then passed it along to her sister, with both women soon joining the project.
The series was created by Lauren Oliver, the author behind young adult titles such as Panic, Before I Fall and the Delirium trilogy.

Bachelorette Weekend is adapted from an unpublished novel by Flora Collins. Its synopsis reads: “In the series, a bachelorette weekend turns deadly when the bride winds up murdered in the pool, and her closest girlfriends all become suspects.”
Deadline reports that Jenner’s character serves as the series’ “North Star” as the story reconstructs the events leading up to the killing.
Before taking on the role, Jenner appeared as versions of herself in Charli XCX’s The Moment and Ocean’s Eight.
Bachelorette Weekend will therefore be her first screen role as a fictional character.
Kardashian has a first-look deal with 20th Television, which brought Bachelorette Weekend to its sibling company, Hulu.
Hulu is expected to give the project a straight-to-series order.
Earlier this year, Jenner made a brief appearance in Charli XCX’s A24 mockumentary The Moment, offering an early glimpse of her on-screen work.
In recent years, she has also attended high-profile film-industry events, including awards ceremonies with Chalamet, her boyfriend of more than three years.
