New £18m Chelsea signing's girlfriend breaks down in tears as she reveals turmoil at prospect of leaving influencer career behind in Madrid to move to London

Chelsea’s £18million signing Pep Chavarria has made the move to Stamford Bridge, but his girlfriend is facing an emotional dilemma over whether she can start a new life in London.

Pawgli, the influencer who has been in a relationship with the footballer since November last year, became tearful in one of her recent videos.

In other clips, she admitted that the possibility of relocating to the English capital feels “scary” and said she was “panicking” as she considers the decision.

The Spanish creator has built a following of more than 1.1 million people on TikTok, where she shares fashion, beauty and lifestyle content.

Chavarria, 28, is expected to remain in London after agreeing a five-year deal with Chelsea, although the club’s record with lengthy contracts has not always been straightforward.

That has left Pawgli weighing up whether to move with him or maintain their relationship from a distance while continuing to pursue influencer work in Madrid.

She explained: “If I move to London, I feel as though I would be giving up a large part of my work. We both have our own careers and our own incomes. I don’t depend on my boyfriend, and he doesn’t depend on me.

“If I leave Madrid, I will lose opportunities to continue developing professionally, because everything connected to my work is here.

“I want to keep looking after my Spanish audience. I cannot speak English at the moment, although I know I would need to learn it.

“Even if I become fluent, I don’t want to replace my Spanish-speaking audience with an English-speaking one. I want to keep the audience I have, which is another reason Madrid makes so much sense for me.

“I’m extremely close to my family and very sensitive, so moving to a country I don’t know — where I have no established life or job and would lose career opportunities — is a huge step.

“I would be doing it for love, because I love my partner and want us to create a future and a family together.”

Pawgli rejected suggestions that her tears were simply about losing professional opportunities or missing free events in Madrid.

However, she made it clear in another video that Chavarria’s move has left her wrestling with a difficult and deeply personal choice.

Chavarria took a longer route to the top level, making his LaLiga debut at 24 before spending the past four seasons with Madrid-based side Rayo Vallecano.

Pawgli said: ‘I have my life in Madrid; I have my job in Madrid, which luckily is going very, very well. I have projects, I have all the brands I work with there, I have daily events, I have my sister, my family, my friends. I have a life where I feel fortunate – it’s a dream life for me and one that cost me a lot to build.

‘So, when you start a relationship and your partner gets an opportunity like this, you’re obviously ultra-mega happy for him and super proud of him, but you also have to sit down with yourself and think, “Okay, now what do I do?”

‘And I swear until recently I was completely convinced that I wasn’t going to move in with him. He has his life in London right now, I have mine in Madrid; I respect his life, he respects mine, and whenever possible, we’ll see each other.

‘A long-distance relationship. Something I would’ve never considered in my life, but if one thing was clear to me, it’s that I will never in my life depend on anyone or live off anyone. I have my own income, and that’s how it’ll always be.

‘All of this is scary for someone who has everything in Madrid. Right now I’m panicking, honestly, because I know it’s a very tough decision.

‘I also want to be able to experience this with Pep, because if I met my boyfriend and he’s been here in Madrid for like 4 years and I met him, and precisely this year he has to go to London, maybe it’s because fate also wants me to go.

‘Because I’m obviously going to make content for you wherever I go, and being in London I can do even more, right? Because there are things there that aren’t in Spain.

‘I have a thousand ideas in my head because I can’t stop thinking, honestly.’

Pawgli, 27, has never revealed her actual name and the nickname is apparently based off the Jungle Book character Mowgli.

She did join her boyfriend for his unveiling with the Blues.

Chavarria said: ‘This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

‘It is a big opportunity but I am prepared and will work hard to help the team achieve success.

‘There are a lot of people who have helped me get to this moment and I have to thank my family.

‘They have always supported me and today is only possible because of them. I’m here thanks to Xabi (Alonso). For me, he’s one of the best coaches right now.’
