Two Amazon employees, including a 25-year-old woman whose family says she was an “innocent bystander,” were wounded in a late-night shooting outside a Brooklyn fulfillment center over the weekend, police and law-enforcement sources said.
The woman was shot in the chest, while a 23-year-old male coworker suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder around 11:15 p.m. outside the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Bay Street near Hicks Street in Red Hook, according to police.
Both employees were transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, and they were listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Law-enforcement sources said the woman, identified by relatives as Dominique Dunlap, was returning to the facility after stopping at a nearby deli when the shooting occurred.
A fundraising page described Dunlap as “an innocent bystander [who] caught a bullet not meant for her” and said she experienced “significant blood loss.”

“Although we are incredibly grateful that she survived, the bullet remains lodged in her body, and she now faces a difficult road to physical and emotional recovery,” her family wrote.
The wounded male employee had reportedly been walking from a bus stop to the Amazon building with his girlfriend, who also works at the facility, when gunfire erupted, sources said.
His girlfriend was not injured in the shooting, according to law-enforcement sources.
Police said two male suspects escaped from the scene in a white sedan.
Investigators have not yet determined what led to the shooting, and the motive remains under investigation.
