Metallica Rose Harrison, the Pennsylvania mother accused of killing her husband and young son, had shared affectionate family photos on social media shortly before the alleged stabbing deaths and a subsequent suicide attempt at a Poconos resort.
The 27-year-old regularly posted pictures of herself with her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son during family vacations, including photographs taken in August.
Earlier this summer, Metallica Rose also shared a picture of herself and her son, identified only by his initials, T.H., riding a Ferris wheel.
Charles Harrison posted several similar images of the family, including a wedding photograph from three years ago showing him resting his head affectionately against his bride.
Harrison, who is from Towanda, Pennsylvania, is accused of stabbing her husband and son before cutting her wrists and neck inside a hotel room at Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos on Monday.
Police said she later called 911 and asked how to find the right vein to cut after being unable to take her own life.
“My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” she reportedly told emergency dispatchers.

Harrison declined to speak with police after her arrest, but reportedly told medical personnel that she had worked “so hard to be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” according to an affidavit.
“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” she added, according to the document.
Police were seen outside the family’s home in Bradford County on Tuesday night, roughly two hours north of the resort. Neighbors said they were shocked by the news.
“I’ve heard sometimes a lot of yelling at times, but that’s pretty much it,” one unidentified neighbor told WNEP.
Another neighbor, Lee Henry, told the outlet that the family generally kept to themselves.
Harrison was hospitalized for injuries police said she inflicted on herself and remains under treatment, according to court documents.
She remains in police custody.
